Today, we set off for Nyahururu, where Thompson's Falls await at an impressive altitude of 7,738 feet. These falls were named after the Scottish explorer Joseph Thompson, who made the first European discovery in 1884. We then make our way down into the majestic Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch break at one of the local hotels. After lunch, an energetic afternoon game drive is on the agenda. The park is teeming with wildlife, and the birdwatching here is truly exceptional. You might even find yourself becoming a bird enthusiast, thanks to the breathtaking variety of bird species. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its magnificent flocks of lesser and greater flamingos, which turn the lake's shores into a spectacular stretch of pink. This park is renowned for its birdlife, with over 400 species, including white pelicans, plovers, egrets, and marabou storks. It's also one of the rare places in Africa where you can spot the white rhino and the elusive Rothschild giraffe. Tonight, we'll take pleasure in our meals and spend the night at a comfortable lodge or camp in Nakuru or Naivasha.
